About

Hi, I’m Sian from London UK.

Apart from my family and friends I have three main loves in my life, Food, Travel and my Afro… yes really, my Afro.

I love all aspects of food, from sourcing to preparing to cooking and the best part EATING!  I especially love baking so I will be uploading many posts featuring my own cakes, I’m pretty much a self taught baker/cook so don’t expect picture perfection, even when things don’t go exactly to plan I’ll still feature them.

I also love travelling, although recent events have stopped me travelling as frequently as I used to, I hope that will change soon and I may still write posts about places I have previously travelled to.

The Kinks and Coils part of my blog title refers to my glorious head of natural hair, I say natural hair because I no longer have relaxed hair.  In simple terms a relaxer is a chemical treatment which makes naturally non-straight hair, straight and is mainly used by women by women of African and or Caribbean  descent, but anyone with curly, coily, kinky hair can use a relaxer.  I’m not anti-relaxer users but it’s just not for me any  more. I very occasionally straighten my hair using heat, as I like versatility and play around with wigs, scarves and colourful hair accessories.

In addition I enjoy reading, music, dance languages and loads of other activities so I’ll pretty much write about anything that pops into my head, at the moment there is no schedule to my blogging, I’ll blog whenever I feel like it and have time.

However you found my blog thanks for reading and I appreciate and read all comments, feel free to ask any questions or weigh in on any topic I write about.

Peace

xSx

    • Hi Arlene, thank you so much! Sometimes I do wonder if any one reads my blog, lol and I’ve been so busy in the last few weeks I haven’t posted for a while but I’ll be back soon. Of course I can help you with a Princess Tiana cake. I do not know how to convert UK measurements into US cups though, where are you based?
